About these tools
The PDF engine loads the first time you use a tool, then everything happens locally. A typical 20-page merge finishes in a second or two on a laptop and a little longer on an older phone. Nothing is uploaded, there is no file size quota, and no watermark is added.
A few practical notes: encrypted or password-protected PDFs must be unlocked in a PDF reader first. Scanned documents are images inside the PDF, so merging or splitting them does not make the text searchable. For page ranges, use the format 1-3, 5, 8- to pick pages 1 to 3, page 5, and page 8 to the end.
